A beautiful face makes a long lasting impression so we go to great lengths to insure the fact that our facial features are always radiant. Sometimes we overdo it and the excess of cosmetic products and their inherent chemicals backfire, on other occasions other factors cause undesired problems. Take the dark circles around the eye for example, as they can appear without notice or gradually, but in both cases have a detrimental effect on our appearance. Without being a serious condition, it is nevertheless frustrating and the worst part is that if left untreated the eye dark circles won’t go away.
Causes :
  • Poor diet or eating habits
  • Ageing results in dryness of skin which leads to dark circles
  • Stress
  • Living conditions or lifestyle habits
Home Remedy for Eye Dark Circles

Grate raw potato and make some juice by putting them in a cheesecloth and squeeze to extract the juice. Soak cotton ball or pad in potato juice and place them on affected area. Close your eyes while you do this since you need to put the soaked cotton over the dark circles around your eyes. Try to leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water thereafter.

Thinly slice a tomato and extract the juice and add few drops of lemon. Grab a cotton ball and dip it to the mixture and apply this on the dark circles twice a day.

To make this concoction, add mint leaves, salt, and some lemon juice and mix it with tomato juice. Drink this twice each day.

This is an effective remedy for dark circles, and you can easily make it at home. Crush one or two tomatoes, press it on a sieve to extract juice, add a tablespoon of lemon juice, and a dash of gram flour and turmeric powder. Blend these ingredients until you get a thick paste. Apply it around your eyes, and let it stay for ten to twenty minutes. Repeat it at least twice a week to make the skin tone lighter around the eyes.

Soak 4 or 5 almonds in water overnight and make a paste out of the almonds then add milk just enough to make a thick consistency. Apply this mixture over your dark circles and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Doing this routine regularly will lighten the shadowy areas around the eyes.

Take a few teaspoons of fresh pineapple juice and mix a pinch of turmeric powder. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and apply it to the affected area. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse as usual. This concoction can lighten the dark circles.

Make it a daily habit to apply some cream around the darkened areas of your eyes every night before going to bed.

Crush a few mint leaves and squeeze few drops of lemon on it. Place the mixture over your tired eyes for a cooling effect. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse as usual.
