Urban Decay AMMO SHADOW BOX | Review & Swatches

Sometime back, I bought this beauty which was laying untouched in my stash for long. If i can recall it correctly, I bought it during last Christmas sale and just discovered that it was still packed. Better late then never, here I go reviewing this pretty little thing!
PRODUCT description :
This baby is a classic! Our Eye shadow Ammo Shadow Box—back for a limited time—features 10 iconic, bestselling UD shades in a case that’s a tactile experience on its own (but more on that in a minute).
What’s inside, you ask?
Five sets of coordinating duos that run the gamut from subtle to sexy.
The slim case comes complete with a perfectly sized mirror and a double-ended applicator.
Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box also features a magnetic closure—perfect for preventing shadow mishaps in your bag.
Covered in touchable, matte black paper, this palette showcases a mesmerizing assortment of UD elements, gently wafting from a pistol in overlapping textures of violet metallic foil and rich, velvety flocking.
Colours :
Smog (deep coppery bronze shimmer),
Mildew (mossy green shimmer w/gold shift),
Oil Slick (black matte w/silver micro-glitter),
Last Call (metallic plum shimmer), [my favorite]
Chopper (copper shimmer w/silver micro-glitter),
Maui Wowie (metallic golden beige shimmer w/silver glitter), [prettiest]
Shattered (turquoise shimmer w/gold shift),
Polyester Bride (white snow shimmer w/silver micro-glitter), - I Do'not have this shade in my palette :(
Grifter (sheer lavender shimmer w/silver micro-glitter), - [Least pigmented]
Sin (champagne shimmer).

review :
Description of this palette says it all. What I would like to add here is 'Oh my God' there is this manufacturing defect with my palette!
It contains 2 pans of "Shattered" shade and the shade "Polyester Bride" is missing from the palette :(
The pan is named as Polyester Bride however its filled with another shade. which i don't mind much because its one of the gorgeous shade but I still would like my palettes to be fault free :(
Packaging : The packaging is quite chic and the combination of black and purple makes it really eye catching. Purple velvety floral patterned and Urban Decay logo is embossed on a Metallic foiled body. It has a mirror inside and box also features a magnetic closure—perfect for preventing shadow mishaps in your bag.
Pigmentation : The colors are so pigmented that even without any eye shadow primer the colors are vivid and beautiful.
Texture : All the shades are creamy, soft and easy to blend expect for "Oil Slick" which is a little hard to blend but this can be over looked I have seen worst matte black shaded.
Lasting : The shades doesn't fades or crease except in case you have extremely oily lids. I strongly recommend using eye shadow primer if you have oily lids. If you want more of a vivid color for these shadows, use a base or an eye shadow primer.I use Jordana 12 hr Eye shadow pencil in shade Continuous Almond as my eye base. I noticed some fall out with glittery shades so i would suggest using a damp brush.
Price and Availability : It's Priced 30 USD on the website but these days they are on sale and are available for 16 USD only. In pakistan you can shop it from Iram Lilani or Jaavhir Makeup selling pages.
Overall, its a beautiful palette and contains all these lovely bright shades packed in a single box.

Deletei am a die hard fan of UD eye shadows . In love with chopper ..
ReplyDeleteI loved Oil Slick & Chopper! Lovely palette!
ReplyDeleteLast Call is my favorite shade but I also like Sin and Oil Sleek. I don't remember last time when I used a blue eyeshadow, maybe 15 years ago :)))). The shades are all pretty even the blue ones but for me is a little bit to much, I am more a fan of nude shades.
ReplyDeleteThis palette is a beauty! All the shadows look gorgeous and so pigmented <3

ReplyDeleteI've always wanted this palette, but I don't see it around anymore. Sucks that you got one with two same shades!
ReplyDeleteSmog, chopper and sin look really pretty! I am a fan of pigmented products so this sounds really good. :) x

This isn't a palette I would use as the colours aren't really me but I love UD shadows and Chopper is one of my faves! xx
