I’m a little late with my review and swatches of the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eye Shadow Palette but today I’m finally going to share my thoughts. By now you’ve watched a lot of videos and read a lot of reviews on this palette and most of them have probably been pretty negative.

Honestly, I do like ABH and ordered the Palette on the same day of its Launch. I had high hopes. In past, I have reviewed ABH's Shadow Couture World Traveler Eye Shadow PaletteNICOLE GUERRIERO GLOW KIT and I have been satisfied with both the palettes and had to give this one a try.

So, let's just get to review part ...

REVIEW :

Packaging: The palette itself is in the usual ABH packaging which is made of cardboard. It is very sleek and Sturdy. It comes in the rich teal velvety packaging with bold mustard lettering. I must say, I am not a big fan of this packaging because it collects dust really easily and is impossible to clean off because of the velvety overlay.  It also includes a handy double-edged shadow brush, as well as there is a mirror in the palette. Although the brush is just okay-ish nothing amazing.

Texture: The texture of these eyeshadows are very very soft and smooth. The formula is really silky and feels so light on the eyelids.

However, the formula is powdery which means some obvious fallout but It's not that bad.  Also, blending does require effort with darker shades i.e. Axis and Untamed. For rest of the shades,  It glides on the lids evenly and smoothly.

Pigmentation: ABH shadows are known for being highly pigmented palettes and these shades are Insanely Pigmented. Although the darker - matte shades are little hard to blend. Also, the darker shades Axis and Untamedare not true to its color and will oxidize and will turn gray :/ and have the most fall out.

OBSERVATION: I do not know if it's true and I am still testing BUT I think they do not oxidize if applied with finger :/

Finishes:

This palette contains 14 total eyeshadow shades s with ultra-matte, duo chrome and metallic finishes. They can be used wet or dry.

Lasting: The staying power is 5-6 hours without any primers. When the eyeshadow is used with primers, it enhances the staying power to 8 hours or so.

Price & Availability: It's Priced 40 USD and it's available at Sephora, Macy's and Anastasia's Official Website.

OVERALL: Anastasia Beverly Hills has failed to capture hearts with this Palette. It's being compared to the infamous "Modern Renaissance". Personally, I am in love with the shade ranges and the pigmentation is to die for !!

It’s a chaotic palette that requires a lot of tender loving care and patience during application. You need a good deal of time, a very light hand, and a lot of gentlenesses when working with this palette.

There is some fall out too but tapping off the excess of your brush will help.

I will recommend doing your eye makeup before you do your skin with this palette at least.
